My new Handphone E310C
After meeting up with Elene's dad to pass him the book that Elene asked me to buy in Taiwan...the Chinese version of the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, I went Hougang point to buy things at NTUC and get my lunch.
Guess who I met? Linnea. Haha...so coincidence to meet her there. She is doing part-time at Watsons...not in the store itself but some kind of make-shift stall nearby..tending the cashier alone..so boring..hee and since I not going out, decided to just stay with her and chat with her till her break at 2 pm. So we chatted for about 2 hours before we went for lunch at KFC. I think if I am alone doing part-time there, I sure bored to death cos not much crowd and nothing much to do. Got pple talk still ok, if alone I think I really cannot. haha. Then also sms Cynthia and arranged to meet her to jog at Hougang Stadium at 6pm.
So, after lunch, I went back home and was putting the stuff that I bought on the table and I accidentally dropped my phone. Didn't think it was a big deal cos this is not the first time that I dropped and this time the phone is still in the handphone pouch. But when I took it out and check, the "Charging" screen appeared..this is wat I saw that time when my phone got soaked in water during the ECO trip and I had to send my phone for repair. Oh no. Not a good sign. So, I went to try to charge my phone and see whether is it working properly. Bad. The phone is not charging at all. Now its still full batt. But then, if it cannot be charged, tmr sure no batt ma. And I am expecting a call from UOB, so better go and check my phone first before the battery becomes flat and I missed their call.
So, changed quickly and took 72 to Tampines Mall. Went to the customer service centre, I told the person about my phone problem, he says he can send it to Samsung for them to repair but that will take at least 5 working days and in the meantime, cos my warranty has void, they will not lend me a spare phone....I have no spare phone at home lor..so I have to go phone-less for 5 days!!!!! I think I one day without phone in Singapore I can die liao..dun say 5 days lor...haha. So, I told them I will go get a phone first before sending it for repair lor.
Then, just before I left the counter, the CSO told me he will try to check my phone again. AND now my phone is working fine..he sees nothing wrong with it at all! He says just now it must have been under some kind of shock..now recover liao..haha after resting for like half an hour..haha. But still I think its a bit risky, what if I go back home and my mobile shock again..then how..so better go check out some new phones since I also quite eager to get a camera phone. Hee.
Went to the Starhub shop. Saw a phone on promotion Samsung E310C with integrated camera, costs onli $68 for a two-yr plan and 0 for a $100 trade-in. But currently, I am still under a 2 yrs contract with one more yr to go..so I went to ask the sales exec whether I can get it in my situation. The person told me I could get the phone at the promo price by topping it up with $100 more and start a new 2 yr plan. Sounds not bad.
So, I decided to just trade-in my old and spoilt E100a (the pple there doesn't noe that my phone just recovered from a shock and I didn't tell them..opps) and sign up the new plan. So, they went to check my phone and they find it nothing wrong so they allowed me to trade it for $100..hee..so lucky. So, in the end, I onli has to pay $68 cos the 100 bucks for trade-in cancel off the 100 bucks I have to pay for early termination of contract.
And I changed my plan from a PowerChat 100 ($29.40, free incoming 7am-7pm, 100 min outgoing, 1000 sms) to PowerValue 100 ($25.20, all day free incoming, 100 min outgoing, 600 sms). The latter much cheaper and somemore all day free incoming (its very good cos my parents call me everytime after 7pm and that if I picked it up, I have to pay extra...and my Dad always say just pick it up la..a few cents onli...but a few cents everyday add up to quite a bit per month lor..haha so now good..all day free..they can call anytime that they want and I can just pick it up with no worries..hee.), and I think 1000 sms is a bit too much for me, 600 sms will do.
So, now I have a new camera phone plus a new plan which is cheaper..hee so Happy..so handphone spoil may just be a blessing in disguise..hee..if handphone didn't spoil, I wun have noe of such a deal...and I wun get a new phone too..
But I didn't get to jog with Cynthia..have to cancel the jogging session cos I was still at Tampines...oh ya..talking about that...know why it took so long to get my phone..cos I asked the person whether they can help me transfer my address book from my phone to my sim card..and they say tat is the problem with Samsung phone..if u want to do that, u will have to do it manually one by one...oh man..and after the person checked my phone, he told me I have like 400 entries in my phone..and he will help me do it manually one by one till my sim card is full then will transfer the rest to my new phone after that...
He is called Shing Kit..think he is a part-time there cos he was not wearing the uniform..just a Black starhub tee..and he helped me do it for like 1 hour! manually..one by one...I was very paiseh..cos I was like jamming up the queue..a lot of pple are like waiting for their turn...(I waited for very long too for my turn and now I noe why..), I kept saying paiseh and sorry to him cos I really am..I even offered to ask him to show me how to do it so I can do it myself but he kept saying its ok..he will do it for me..so ya I sat there for like one hour..and he was sitting at the opposite side doing it for me...
haha quite funny actually...I didn't want to stare at him cos think that will make him even more stressed..so was looking at other counters..but it seems quite rude to like "eavesdrop" on other pple's conversation, so in the end, I was like fussing with the things in my bag..just to find some things to do..at first was thinking of asking him whether I could come back and get it later..but he didn't ask me to go shop around first then come back, so I also dunno whether I should ask..I mean this poor guy is helping me do it..and now I asking him whether he can just do it while I go shop..haha..not very nice I tot. While he was concentrating on transferring my 400 entries one by one, my mind was thinking,"Did I name any funny things in my address book? Hmmm by scanning through my address list, think he will roughly have guess which schools I came from ba..cos the names will be like XXX Anderson, YYY NJC, NTU Medical Centre, AAA Hall 2 and all those stuff..haha..but these are still ok...that time I got save one as "Crazy Fellow" cos this person I dunno who sent me weird stuff so I actually saved the no. just in case the person calls..haha..wonder wat he will think when he sees this name..haha.
Yupz..so think about one hour or so, he gave out a short Yay! Done! Haha...think he is very relieved..I think I was very relieved too..haha..I feel weird sitting there with nothing to do...I wrote his name on the feedback form and praised him..hee hope his boss will get to see it ba..=) After I paid at the cashier, I went back to him and say thanks to him again. =)
