National Day (Part Two)

I have a craving for steamboat so went to have steamboat with Dear Dear. But Dear was not very hungry so he didn't really eat a lot. I had quite a lot of prawns though. Yum Yum. The prawns this time round were much better than the ones that we had last time. Dear Dear treated me to 3 big cups of sugarcane juice! We spent 6 bucks on sugarcane alone lor. Very kua zhang hor. Took some photos. Shall post it up soon.

After that, we strolled around the rest of the carnival before proceeding to the field to watch the NDP on the large screen. We reached there just after the National Anthem. We were standing outside when the National Anthem was playing actually.

Then came the fighter planes and helicopters. They were just flying above us. The fighter planes' formation were really cool! Really enjoyed the whole performance.

Of course, the highlight of the parade were the fireworks! Sooooooooooo beautiful! First time I am so close to the fireworks. Besides the fireworks at the Padang, there were also fireworks at Marina at the same time. It was very loud but Really very beautiful! So, I actually got to see both the displays of the fireworks at the place that I was standing. So romantic to stand besides Dear Dear to watch the fireworks! I want to go catch it again next year if possible. But think I want to be near the sea instead of at the field. Think it will be a much better view cos the view will be unobstructed.

It was a very fun n happy day with Dear that day!

It's NATIONAL DAY today! (Part One)

Went to Marina with Dear Dear today. We went to have our lunch first at some coffeeshop. Dear wanted to eat lor mee at first but no more liao so he settled for Mee Pok and I had laksa. I think the laksa is not bad.

Then, we went to walk around the carnival. Saw a lot of cars there on display. Even saw those cars used in Initial D. Then, there was a car demonstration where the drivers displayed their superb driving skills by doing 180 degree turn or reversing their car at super high speed. So, you can hear the tyres of the cars screeching! I am not a car lover but I am attracted by them.

Then, we went to this booth where it displayed the latest mascot of Singapore called Luving Lionel. It has not been launched in the market yet. Today is just a soft launch. Dear Dear and I even took a photo with Luving Lionel. I think Luving Lionel is very cute. Can be Giant's friend if we managed to win it. Haha. There is this "Guess the weigh of Luving Lionel" contest. Dear Dear made a clever guess that maybe it is something to do with 9 Aug. So, I put the weight as 8kg 900g and Dear put 9kg and 800g. Haha. Hope one of it is correct and we can win the Luving Lionel.

Shall post the photo of Luving Lionel up soon! There is this gal from Canon who helped us took a photo with it and developed it for us on the spot for free! Too bad we dun have the soft copy for this one. Maybe Dear Dear can scan it and put it up on the blog also. Think the merchandise for Luving Lionel are all kinda nice but the prices are steep cos there are limited edition for each version of Luving Lionel.

Dear also bought 8 days and got a free goodie bag ( think got toothbrush, toothpaste, NIVEA whitening cream and a lot more things) PLUS a large Initial D Poster for just 2 bucks. Cheap Hor. But I didn't buy la cos the magazine, the goodie bag and the poster not attractive enough for me. [Our Giant was angry with us that we did not bring him out so Dear promised to give him the Giant Initial D Poster. Haha.]

Walked to Food Village. We bought 4 Otaks for $1. Taste not bad la but not as nice as the one that we had in Jalan Kayu lor. Both of us miss the Otak at Jalan Kayu. The other day Dear drove me back and we wanted to go Jalan Kayu to buy the Otak one but it was too late, shop closed liao. Sad. So, we end up eating Prata. We were kinda full so we decided to order 2 plain one. We TOT that plain one is very nice. Crispy Crispy. BUT it turned out NOT nice at all lor! Its hard and chewy. Next time, DUN eat the plain Prata k. We tried the egg and cheese prata the other day. They were very nice.

K back to today. Digress a little. Was walking back to the car roadshow then saw that there was a competition going on. It was the Finals of the Autobabe contest..not sure whether this is the name..but anyway, its like a pageant la..hmmm quality of the gals I will say average lor...got some pretty one but also got some hmmm..shall not comment..haha. Dear and me still stayed throughout the contest till the winner was crowned. The winner is really chio and got nice toned tummy. Think her tummy is the nicest of all. Haha. Its flat plus tone! Think 90% of the gals dun have flat tummy by the way. Not that I have flat tummy though..haha...so shall not comment so much on others. It's not easy to parade around in such skimpy clothes and getting pple to talk about your body like that. I so short. Not even qualified to take part lor. And think my mum will KILL me if I ever take part in this kind of competition. Haha.

Ok..Mum SCREAMING at me to go to bed. It's 12 am liao and tmr still got work. Part 1 of National Day finished. Shall continue tmr ba.

3 Hr Test Tmr!

It's been quite some time since I blogged. Very busy this past week. First week that I worked OT to complete a project with my fellow newbies. On Saturday, also stayed till 530 to clear and categorise my emails. So many and I dun even noe how to categorise them. Haven't finish categorising yet. Shall be a short entry as can be seen on the title, I have a 3 Hr Closed Book Test tmr on cheques, branches and services. Later at nite, going to Soup Restaurant to have dinner. So, shall go and mug a bit now. I dun wanna fail the test. So Malu! Wish me luck, bloggie!
